Tech Pack Checklist

Check that your tech pack is complete and consistent before it goes to the factory.

By Apparel Search · Updated October 2026

A tech pack with gaps gets guessed answers, and guessed answers become wrong samples. Use this checklist to review each section before you send it. It works for a tech pack built in any tool, including the free Tech Pack Builder and Tech Pack Template. For how to create one, read how to create a tech pack.

Questions

What should a tech pack include?

Most include style information, flat sketches, a bill of materials, colorways, measurements with tolerances, construction details, labels and packaging instructions and a revision history.

How do I know my tech pack is complete?

Check each section against a list like this one, and make sure the pages agree with each other. Ask the factory what it needs that is missing.

Should the factory confirm it received the latest version?

Yes. Version numbers and a written acknowledgement avoid samples made from an old tech pack.
