The company's products were distributed domestically and internationally, primarily to wholesale customers through department stores, independent retailers, chain stores, membership clubs, specialty stores, mass merchandisers and the internet. What happened to the Warnaco Group?
PVH Corp. acquired Warnaco in a deal announced October 31, 2012 and completed February 13, 2013, for about $2.8 billion in cash and stock, reuniting the Calvin Klein formal, underwear, jeans and sportswear businesses under one owner. Warnaco's stock (NYSE: WRC) stopped trading and the company no longer operates independently.
Which Warnaco brands survive, and where?
The Calvin Klein businesses sit inside PVH. The heritage intimate brands took a second step: in November 2023 PVH sold the Warner's and Olga brands to Basic Resources, Inc. When was Warnaco founded?
Warnaco's history dates to 1874, when the Warner brothers' corset business - maker of Dr. Warner's health corsets and the Warner's brand - began in New York. The Warner's name it created is the one that outlived the company itself.
