The Eleven C Brands

Three records carry genuine founding depth. Carter's dates to 1865, founded by William Carter, and later acquired OshKosh B'Gosh. Carhartt dates to 1889 and is still family-owned by founder Hamilton Carhartt's descendants. Capezio dates to Salvatore Capezio's 1887 New York shoe repair shop beside the old Metropolitan Opera House, reaching Broadway stages by the 1930s and a Vogue cover in the 1950s. At the other end of the record, Calvin Klein's company was launched in 1968 by Calvin Klein and Barry Schwartz and acquired by PVH Corp. in 2003, and Children's Place was founded in 1969 and ranks as North America's largest pure-play children's specialty apparel retailer.
