Everything your adventure needs to hit the slopes and explore the trails is its opening promise, and its history earns it: in April 1971, University of California Santa Cruz students Eric Reynolds and Dave Huntley were on Alaska's Juneau Icefield on a school Glaciology project when the idea of a Marmot Club began - membership by climbing a glaciated peak with another Marmot, and everyone was President. Prototypes of down products followed in their dorm room - a down vest, a sweater and a parka, and later three down sleeping bags - and in the spring of 1974 Marmot the company was born, named for the highly social, large ground squirrels of mountainous areas.

Mossimo follows. The Mossimo Brand has grown into a multi-billion dollar lifestyle sportswear and accessories company: a mid-range American clothing company founded in 1986 by designer Mossimo Giannulli and owned by Iconix Brand Group, specializing in youth and teenage clothing such as shirts, jeans, jackets, socks, underwear and accessories, and exclusively available at Target in 2017. It is one of the largest global apparel brands in the US, with international licenses in Australia, South America, Mexico, Japan, Philippines and India, risen by blending its surf, sport, urban and street heritage into a contemporary fashion brand worn by everyone from kids, college students and their parents, to hard-core surfers.
