VF Imagewear was VF Corporation's uniform and workwear division - the business behind Red Kap, Bulwark and Chef Designs - until VF sold its occupational workwear brands in 2021; they now operate as Workwear Outfitters.
Nothing is sold under the VF Imagewear name today: the uniform programs it ran - industrial workwear, flame-resistant apparel, chef wear and public-safety uniforms - continue under Workwear Outfitters, the standalone company formed from the sold brands (Red Kap, Bulwark, Workrite, Walls, Terra, Kodiak, Work Authority, Horace Small and the former VF Solutions, now Image Authority). The old vfimagewear.com address now routes to Workwear Outfitters ordering, and the disclaimer below links the successor's site.
VF Imagewear was proud that millions of people go to work in its clothes every day. Through its workwear brands, which included Bulwark, Red Kap, Chef Designs and The Force, it provided an array of uniforms and protective apparel to private businesses and public agencies across the country. Its reputation for quality, safety and durability - whether outfitting a police force or a chef's crew - was second to none.
VF Imagewear was part of VF. VF Corp is a multi-billion dollar apparel powerhouse, with an incredibly diverse, international portfolio of fashion brands and products that reach consumers wherever they choose to shop - and the parent company's profile is linked from the chips below.
Imagewear was VF's business-to-business uniform arm: rather than selling to shoppers, it ran uniform programs for employers and agencies, from industrial work shirts and flame-resistant coveralls to chef wear and public-safety uniforms - including, in 2013, a contract to manufacture uniforms for Transportation Security Administration officers. On April 28, 2021, VF announced a definitive agreement to sell the occupational portion of its Work segment to a subsidiary of Redwood Capital Investments, and the sale was completed on June 28, 2021. The brands that moved - Red Kap, VF Solutions, Bulwark, Workrite, Walls, Terra, Kodiak, Work Authority and Horace Small - became the standalone company Workwear Outfitters, based in Nashville, Tennessee, where Red Kap has its home; the VF Solutions business continued there under the name Image Authority. The sale deliberately did not include Dickies or Timberland PRO, which stayed with VF (Dickies was itself sold by VF in 2025). The vfimagewear.com address now routes visitors to Workwear Outfitters ordering, and because the division supplied businesses rather than retail shoppers, this page carries no marketplace shop box.
VF sold the occupational portion of its Work segment - the Imagewear business - to a subsidiary of Redwood Capital Investments in a sale completed June 28, 2021. The brands became part of the new standalone company Workwear Outfitters, so the VF Imagewear name no longer operates as a VF division.
Its program brands included Red Kap, Bulwark, Chef Designs and The Force in the directory's own description; the 2021 sale also carried VF Solutions, Workrite, Walls, Terra, Kodiak, Work Authority and Horace Small. Dickies and Timberland PRO were not part of the sale.
Workwear Outfitters, the Nashville-based company formed from the sold brands, supplies the Red Kap, Bulwark and related uniform programs today. The old vfimagewear.com address now routes to Workwear Outfitters ordering.
