New York- Denim plays an integral part in all our lives, no matter what type of lifestyle you lead. DL1961 has partnered with Pencils of Promise, a non-profit charity led by a passionate community of individuals making a positive impact on the world. Their mission is to build sustainable schools, partnerships and solutions to enable basic education for underserved children in developing countries.

Beginning June 7th, 2012 (yesterday) their website will highlight a progressive New Yorker accomplishing great things in his/her field. Each week, a new member will share how they became pioneers in their respective industries.  At the end of the summer, once all nominees have been revealed, fans can then vote for their favorite Denim Movement member at DL1961.com.

You can also join the movement by posting an image of your favorite DL's to their website for a chance to win three new pairs of jeans (just don't forget to tag #dl1961.)  They encourage everyone to join the movement and share inspiring stories, while supporting a great cause.
