The CAD Pattern Cutter works on computer-aided design systems, turning pattern blocks into production-ready pieces and markers. Beside that digital craft sit the colour roles. The Color Chemist develops the dyes and chemical processes that colour fabric; the Colorist matches shades day to day, judging lab dips and bulk dyeings against the standard; the Color Lab Manager runs the laboratory where those matches are made; and the Color Specialist keeps shades consistent across ranges, from first sample to store rail.
Cutting Fabric completes the letter from the factory floor: the cutting-room stage of garment manufacturing, where markers are read, lays are spread and stacked fabric is cut into bundled parts for the sewing lines. Together the six descriptions show how much of production happens before and around the sewing machine — in software, in the dye lab, and at the cutting table.
Production and Sourcing covers the making end of the fashion business: pattern development, cutting, sewing and finishing, dyeing and colour, sourcing and factory management. Descriptions are filed by the first letter of the job title; the letter bar above jumps to the category hub’s section for each letter that carries roles — A, C, D, E, F, G, I, L, M, O, P, Q, S, T, V and W — and the Production and Sourcing hub lists every role on one page.
