This is the main index of the big and tall collection - the folder's own front door. The flat big and tall guide one level up introduces the section for the whole B letter; this page indexes the collection from inside, for the reader who has arrived directly. Below, every guide in the folder is listed once, in alphabetical order, and each is a complete treatment of its garment in extended sizes: the measurements that matter for that garment, the fabrics that serve it, the fit faults to refuse, and the care that keeps it in service.

These categories are gathered under one directory heading here, and readers are invited to suggest additions. The collection is a shelf of guides, each built on the same sizing doctrine this page summarizes.

The Doctrine in One Page

Big sizes add circumference; tall sizes add length; the two axes solve different problems and are not interchangeable. Every guide in this folder applies that doctrine to its garment: rise and inseam for the legwear, sleeve and tuck-length for the shirts, wrap overlap for the robes, calf and foot length for the socks and shoes, crown volume for the hats. Proportions matter as much as dimensions - a well-graded extended pattern carries its pockets, collars, prints and button stances at the scale of the body it serves, and the guides name the grading faults to reject: dropped shoulders, drifting prints, inherited regular-size pockets, armholes scaled into gaping.

Measurement is the buyer's half of the doctrine. Four numbers open most of this collection - chest, waist, inseam, and the garment's own critical length - taken honestly, compared against each maker's own chart, and kept on record. The guides assume those numbers and spend their words on what the numbers cannot tell you: how a fabric behaves at scale, where a closure will be stressed, and which construction details separate a garment patterned for you from one merely enlarged at you.

Reading the Index

The index below is alphabetical by garment, and the collection's structure is visible in it: a system page for each family (pants, shirts, sleepwear, outerwear's coats and jackets) standing beside the specific garments it governs, so a reader can learn the family's rules and then shop its members. The printed-tee family is deliberately four-deep - graphic t-shirts, graphic tees, printed t-shirts, printed tees - because at extended sizes the design question, the wardrobe question and the printing question genuinely separate, and each deserved its own answer.

Page 2 of this index, linked below, continues the collection's front matter with the remaining introductory material; the guides themselves are all one click away in the index, whichever page you start from.

One more page. Page 2 of the big and tall index completes the collection's introduction and points back to the B letter hub.
