Welcome to the F section of the Men's Fashion Brands directory. In this area of the fashion brand directory you will find men's fashion brands from leading apparel companies and fashion designers that begin with the letter F: six brand profiles in all, gathered in the grid below - Faconnable, Fila, Fendi, Ferragamo, Fossil and Fruit of the Loom. F is the directory's widest-span letter: its oldest brand begins in 1851 with painted apples on bolts of cloth in Rhode Island, and its youngest group was founded in 1984 in Richardson, Texas, while two Italian luxury houses, a Riviera tailor and an Italian-born sportswear giant fill the space between.
If you know of an important men's clothing brand that begins with the letter F and is not listed in this section, please let us know. Readers who prefer categories can use the Clothes Guide, and readers reviewing luxury fashion can use the wider Fashion Brand Directory; the A-to-Z letter links ride in this page's alphabet bar. Each profile below gives its brand's founding facts, ownership changes and product claims in full.
The letter's luxury pole is Italian and Roman. Fendi, founded in 1925 in Rome in a family-run shop on Via del Plebiscito, is renowned for its fur, fur accessories and leather, with Rome's history, art and beauty intrinsic to its DNA. Ferragamo is the founder's-bench brand: Salvatore Ferragamo worked with Hollywood stars in the 1920s, returned to Italy to found his company making unique handmade footwear, and died in 1960 at 62 as the name expanded to luxury shoes, bags, eyewear, silk accessories, watches, perfumes and ready-to-wear. Faconnable, founded in Nice in 1950 by Jean Goldberg, brings the French Riviera version of the same pole: classic style with a twist, superb tailoring, Albert Goldberg's Facorain fabric with Loro Piana, and an ownership path through Nordstrom and the M1 Group to Pepe Jeans management in 2016.
The other three are sport, accessories and basics at scale. Fila, founded by brothers in Biella in 1911 as a textile shop, became a knitwear partnership in 1923, a global sportswear brand under Enrico Frachey from 1968, and a South Korean-owned company since the 2007 Fila Korea takeover. Fossil Group, founded in 1984 by Tom Kartsotis in Richardson, Texas, gathers Fossil, Relic, Abacus, Michele, Skagen Denmark and Zodiac Watches around accessories, jewelry, leathers, belts and watches in clean mid-century lines. And Fruit of the Loom, the letter's elder from 1851, is one of the largest makers of underwear, printable T-shirts and fleece, known by a fruit cluster - a red apple, leaves, green grapes, currants and purple grapes - that began as a shopkeeper's daughter's paintings on bolts of cloth.
Start from the kind of research you are doing. For a brand's story, open its profile: each one gives the brand's facts in full and carries the official brand site in References - five of the six do; Fruit of the Loom's profile lists no official site. For a purchase, use the shopping buttons on each profile and the men's clothing store directory linked from every page, and judge each garment against the standard its own profile sets, from Ferragamo's handmade bench to Fruit of the Loom's basics at scale.
Six names make the F section: a Riviera tailor, an Italian sportswear giant, two Roman luxury houses, a Texas accessories group and the oldest basics name in the directory. Use the grid below, the alphabet bar and the navigation to move between this hub and its six profiles.
