Mesh bras use open-weave power mesh — in the cups, the wings, or both — to create bras that breathe, flex, and look modern. Unlined mesh cups are sheer; lined versions offer modesty with airflow. The fabric's natural give makes mesh bras more forgiving of size fluctuations than rigid cups.

Mesh is the answer for hot climates, warm sleepers, and anyone who finds solid fabrics stifling. It is also a style choice: sheer mesh panels read contemporary and a little daring, especially with embroidery or strappy details. For support, mesh wings with firm elastic do real work — do not assume "sheer" means "unsupportive." Larger busts should look for mesh bras with reinforced bands and seamed cups rather than single-layer stretch mesh.

Sheerness Decisions

Decide before buying how much show-through you want: unlined mesh reveals the nipple, lined mesh does not, and partially lined styles split the difference. Check the mesh density in person if you can — product photos often understate sheerness.

Durability

Mesh snags on jewelry, Velcro, and rough drawer interiors. Always use a wash bag, store flat, and inspect elastic edges regularly — when the mesh wings lose their snap, support goes with it.
