Women’s wear buying, merchandising, quality assurance and women’s sales — page 9 of 11
Page 9 completes the underwear buyers (children’s, men’s and women’s) and closes the buying groups with Women’s Wear Buyer and Young Men’s Buyer. Design on this page is really merchandising: Merchandiser, Merchandising Assistant, Merchandising Manager and the fabrics merchandise manager, with Missy Designer and the outerwear designers (general and children’s) as the design entries proper.
The miscellaneous group covers training and vendor relationships — Trainer, Training Coordinator, Vendor Account Executive, Vendor Compliance and Vendor Relations, plus one entry whose title promises rather more: Vice President of World Domination. Production turns to quality and making: QA and QC managers, the Quality Technologist, Sample Maker, Seamstress and Sewer / Sewing Operator, and the Sourcing Coordinator. Sales is women’s product throughout — lingerie, sleepwear, outerwear, sweaters and women’s wear, up to the Women’s Wear Sales Manager.

Quality gets its own management tier on this page, and the two manager titles repay attention: quality assurance is the system that prevents defects — standards, inspections and factory requirements set before and during production — while quality control is the checking of finished work against those standards. The Quality Technologist supports both with testing and technical assessment. The Sample Maker and the sewing roles beside them produce the garments those checks are performed on, so this production group describes one continuous workflow from sample room to inspection.
Vendor relations, in the miscellaneous group, is the commercial mirror of that workflow: vendor compliance staff make sure factories meet a retailer’s standards, and vendor account executives manage the relationship day to day. Together with the trainers listed here, they are the people who keep outside factories and internal teams working to the same requirements.
Quality assurance sets and manages the standards and processes that prevent defects; quality control inspects work and finished garments against those standards. Both manager roles are described in this page’s Production / Sourcing group.
