Cotton is the world's default fabric fiber, and this page is the directory of its mills: nineteen manufacturers and groups listed with the descriptions they supplied, spanning denim and shirting giants, quilting fabric houses, and medical and bedding specialists.
No other fiber fills a fabric directory the way cotton does. Canvas, chambray, corduroy, broadcloth and most denim in the neighbouring pages of this section are cotton fabrics wearing construction names; this page is the fiber's own directory, where the listing unit is the mill or group rather than the cloth type. Cotton earns the position honestly - breathable, washable, dye-hungry, comfortable against skin, and woven or knitted into everything from gauze to sailcloth. The fiber upstream has its own Cotton Fiber directory, and the fabric side is surveyed in the Cotton Fabric Guide, with the general Fabric Manufacturers page organising the wider trade.
Unlike the other mill directories in this section, this one links its nineteen listings directly to the companies' own websites instead of to profile pages inside Apparel Search. Each listing describes what the company weaves or knits, from which cotton, and for which applications. That detail does real sourcing work that a bare name cannot: it tells you, for example, that Arvind weaves heavy denim and shirting, and that Baum and RJR print quilting cottons.
Read as a group, the nineteen describe the cotton industry in cross-section. The South Asian integrated mills - Al-Ameen, Amit, Amsons, Anand, Arumuga, Arvind and Ashima in India, A.K. Taj and Amsons in Pakistan - run the full vertical chain the descriptions repeat: spinning, weaving or circular knitting, dyeing, printing and finishing, often through to ready-made garments and bed linen. The American listings split into two distinct trades: the quilting and craft fabric houses - Baum, Maywood Studio and RJR Fabrics, with designer profiles and print galleries - and the industrial side, PCCA's farmer-owned cooperative weaving indigo-dyed fashion fabrics and Shavel's knitted bedding and furnishing cloth. Galia Textil and Kaltex cover Mexico's medical gauze and industrial cotton; Peru Pima brings the long-staple pima story, vertically integrated since 1992; Avanti works in organically grown Japanese cotton; Shinyei weaves supima jacquards and seersucker for performance wear.
Two buying notes follow from the list's shape. First, scale: most of these are vertically integrated manufacturers quoting on programmes, not stock cloth - the useful first questions are qualities held in greige, dyeing and finishing routes, minimums and testing, not a price per metre off a shelf. Second, you may also want to check the jersey knit fabric page - many of those suppliers produce cotton knit, and several companies below knit as well as weave. Around this page, the section runs through the Fabric Directory hub, the Textile Machinery directory, the Embroidery Directory, the Printing Directory and the Textile Industry Directory.
This directory lists nineteen companies, each linked to its own website with a description of what it weaves or knits. The wider trade runs through Clothing Industry Factories, Yarn Factories, Fabric Retail, Fabric Wholesalers, the Fibers Directory and Fabric Definitions, plus Fashion Industry News, Clothing Industry Employment and Conversion Charts. Thank you for using the Apparel Search Fabric Mill Directory.

Nineteen, including Arvind Mills, Ashima Group, A.K. Taj International, Al-Ameen Denim Mills, PCCA (Plains Cotton Cooperative Association), Peru Pima, RJR Fabrics, Maywood Studio and Kaltex - across India, Pakistan, the USA, Mexico, Peru and Japan.
